Notice and Call of a Special Meeting of the City Council NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special meeting of the Port Hueneme City Council is hereby called to be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber located at Port Hueneme City Hall, 250 North Ventura Road, Port Hueneme, CA 93041. Said special meeting shall be for the purpose of conducting business in accordance with the attached Agenda. /s/Misty Perez, Mayor of the City of Port Hueneme, California The following provides information to the public on how to observe and/or participate in City meetings:
• Meetings may also be viewed at: https://porthuenemeca.suiteonemedia.com/ • Public comments for special meetings will only be for scheduled items on the agenda and may be submitted in person or in writing.
In-Person: Complete a speaker request form located at the entrance of the Council Chamber and give it to the City Clerk. Your name will be called when it is your turn to speak. Public Comment is limited to 3 minutes per speaker, unless for good cause, the Mayor amends the time limit. A speaker’s time may not be transferred to another speaker. • Written: All written public comments shall be no more than 500 words and are subject to the Public Records Act. Written comments should be submitted to the City Clerk by 8:00 a.m. on the day of the City Council meeting by email to [email protected] and enter “City Council Public Comment” in the Subject line (and agenda item number).

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Ratification and Update of Declaration of Local Emergency and Consideration of Extension or Termination of Same
Recommendation:
1. Receive an update on the local emergency declared on December 21, 2023;
2. Ratify the adoption of a resolution of the Declaration of Local Emergency resolved by James Vega as the Director of Civil Defense Disaster Services on December 21, 2023;
3. Consider the adoption of a resolution of the City Council of Port Hueneme, California, ratifying and extending the proclamation of a local emergency issued by the Director of Civil Defense and Disaster Services on December 21, 2023 due to flooding and rainstorm impacts under Government Code Section 8630 and Chapter 2 of the Port Hueneme Municipal Code ("Disaster Council”); or termination of local emergency.

The City Council will adjourn to its next regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
