Subject: First Class Cizen, Micheal Federico
I am a man of few words so I will be brief.
I have lived in Port Hueneme going on 25 years now and a majority of those years have included a friendship with Mike Federico. I met him through my daughter Robin. She was a close neighbor of Mike's and he came to her rescue after my daughter blew all the fuzes in her rented home in East Ventura.
I again met Mike when he and his daughter Cameo would come to the local Italian restaurant Angelos which we affectionately called Mama's. Mike would help in the kitchen and eventually took over the restaurant and named it Rico's.
I knew Mike worked in Santa Monica as police officer. I was elated when I was informed he was considered for the Police Chief position in our city.
Micheal is a standout as a person. I have never heard him say a derogatory word about anyone nor directly to anyone. He is a wonderful father raising a challenged daughter with the love that Cameo has learned to return to all that she meets. He is a patriot loving not only our country but our city as well. We need him and I prey he will be part of our community for a long time.

Regarding Agenda Item #16
I am requesng clarificaon regarding the public comment on this item by Council Member Hernandez at the August 26th County Board of Supervisors meeng.
Speaking to a large audience, she stated, (quote) “On August 16th, the Port Hueneme City Council voted to support our immigrant communies through the establishment of a County immigraon legal defense fund, an immigrant defense unit, and migrant educaon program.” In the interests of transparency, please explain how the Council vote was iniated and conducted on a Saturday, and what the results of the vote were? The leer sent by City Manager Vega included in tonight’s agenda packet does not menon a vote but rather references the City’s Legislave Plaorm as a basis for supporng the proposed items at issue. I would also note that some of the general posions reflected in the Legislave Plaorm are subject to interpretaon as to their applicaon in certain specific circumstances.
Thank you and thanks to our City Clerk, Georgianna Alvarez.

Subject: City Council Public Comment
I just wanted to make a brief comment to express my appreciation for the introductory Inspirational message at the beginning of the last meeting on August 18th. The theme of the inspiration, among other things, focused on the importance of public participation in our government and the fact that in our Friendly City by the Sea of Port Hueneme, every voice matters. We are very lucky to live in a place where these fundamental principles are valued and not taken for granted. Thanks to all Council Members for that.

Subject: Public Comment for tonight.
Hey Georgianna, I hope you're doing well. Could you read the following please? Roberto "Bobby" Martinez
"Good evening Mayor McQueen, Mayor Pro Tem Lopez, council members, city staff, and members of the public.
I’d like to share a brief comment regarding mobile vendors in our city, particularly those we see at the beach. Many of these vendors do come from outside the county, but I also want to highlight that some are local. The local vendors I’ve spoken with genuinely want to follow the rules — they are seeking to obtain the proper permits and to be compliant with both city and county requirements.
As you continue discussing how to address mobile vending, I hope consideration can be given to those local vendors who want to do things the right way and contribute positively to our community. I hope there is a system in place for these businesses to operate in our city as they are popular among residents and visitors.
Thank you.
PS Keep it up City Council!"
