PORTOLA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES – AUGUST 3, 2023
1. CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL
Mayor Aalfs called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. Assistant Town Manager Stocker called the Roll Call:
Present: Councilmembers Mary Hufty, Judith Hasko, Craig Taylor and Vice Mayor Sarah Wernikoff and Mayor Jeff Aalfs
Absent: None
Others: Interim Town Manager Howard Young, Assistant Town Manager Corie Stocker, Town Attorney Catherine Engberg
2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
None.
3. CLOSED SESSION
Mayor Aalfs convened the Closed Session at 2:02 p.m. to discuss the following:
a. CONFERENCE WITHLEGAL COUNCIL – ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (d) of California Government Code Section 54956.9: PublicSafety4PVNow, Inc., a Delaware corporation Govt. Code § 54956.9(d)(2): “[a] point has been reached where, in the opinion of the legislative body of the local agency on the advice of its legal counsel, based on existing facts and circumstances, there is a significant exposure to litigation against the local agency.”
4. ADJOURNMENT
