PORTOLA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES - MARCH 18, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL
Mayor Wernikoff called the Special Meeting for Priority Setting to order at 9:00 a.m. from the Sequoias Portola Valley, 501 Portola Road, Parlor 3. Assistant Town Manager Corie Stocker called the roll call:
Present: Councilmembers Jeff Aalfs, Mary Hufty, Craig Taylor, Vice Mayor Judith Hasko and Mayor Sarah Wernikoff
Absent: None
Others: Town Manager Sharif Etman, Assistant Town Manager Corie Stocker
2. PUBLIC COMMENT
None.
3. PRIORTY SETTING AGENDA
a. Hold a Town Council priority and goal setting workshop to provide direction and work towards creating priorities through fiscal year 2024-25 The Town Council and Town staff met to discuss priorities and set goals for the next fiscal year.
At the conclusion of the workshop, five priorities were established, to be voted on at a future Town Council meeting:
1. Fiscal responsibility and long-term viability;
2. Safety;
3. Responsible land use;
4. Organization Efficiency and Effectiveness; and
5. Environmental Sustainability.
4. CALL TO ORDER – CLOSED SESSION
At 3:00 p.m., Mayor Wernikoff invited public comment prior to convening a Closed Session.

None.

6. CLOSED SESSION
a. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUAION (Govt. Code section 54957) Town Manager, Sharif Etman
At 3:01 p.m., Mayor Wernikoff announced the Council would meet in Closed Session to evaluate the Town Manager, Sharif Etman.
7. ADJOURNMENT
At approximately 3:30 p.m., Mayor Wernikoff reconvened the Special Meeting and adjourned.
