April 5, 2022, Item #7AGENDA REPORT CityofPoway DATE: TO: FROM: CONTACT: April 5, 2022 Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council Robert Manis, Director of Development Services .,41 Jeff Beers, Special Projects Engineer (858) 668-4624 or [email protected] CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Acceptance of the City Hall HVAC Controls project; RFP No. 21-013 with Sunbelt Controls, as Complete Summary: On January 19, 2021, the City Council awarded the contract for the City Hall HVAC Controls project; RFP No. 21-013 to Sunbelt Controls, in the amount of $137,000.00. This action will accept the project as complete. Recommended Action: It is recommended that the City Council: (1) Accept the City Hall HVAC Controls project as complete; (2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record the Notice of Completion; Discussion: This heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) project involved the replacement of the actuators that operate the modulating valves in the heated water and chilled water piping as well as the volume dampers in the air ductwork variable air volume boxes. The computer and the software that run the system were replaced as well as all of the wiring from the computer to the actuators and control devices that are spread throughout the buildings. There was one change order to do an air balance, for $3,481.99. The final contract amount is $140,481.99. This action accepts the City Hall HVAC Controls project as complete. Environmental Review: The matter of acceptance of public improvements that have been completed, which were the subject of a prior environmental determination, is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act.
