Re: Item #9 -Landscape Maintenance District discussion
Mayor and Council,
I urge the City Council to reject item 9 on the May 16, 2023 Agenda. There are many reasons to reject this proposal, including but not limited to:

There is no compelling reason to continue having Landscape Maintenance Districts. The Landscape Maintenance Districts areas are clearly a city responsibility and should be directly handled by the City.

The distinction between special benefit vs. general benefit is at best vague and debatable. For example, residents and non-residents driving along Twin Peaks Road receive far more benefit from the LMD than my home which is fully blocked from any view ofTwin Peaks.

Other city areas not part of the LM D receive far better maintenance than my LM D.

For these reasons, and many more, I urge the City Council to reject staff's recommendation.
