Dear council, I urge you to please include predominantly Native species in our beautiful citieslandscaping projects. We have to do our part in supporting our local pollinators as if it mattered because it does. Planting Natives is an issue that now has widespread support andshould be the default choice. I am a member of the Poway Valley Garden Club and in our yearbook of members you can see just how widespread the support of Native plants is becauseit is listed as a passion for nearly a quarter of our members! We can each individually do our parts in our own yards but the pollinators need more support than that and we should be seeingthe landscaping of the city reflecting the values of todays citizens. Thank you so much for your consideration and action on this issue!

I live in your Council District at 12773 Treeridge Terrace Poway and have for the past 29years.
My Home backs up to Twin Peaks Road. I was originally on the city's LMD Committee, but resigned when it became clear that the ONLY conclusion to be reached was a tax increase.Other alternatives were summarily rejected.
I realize that this evening's vote is not a tax increase, but clearly the city is headed for a vote in that direction with this evening's staff recommendation.
I walk frequently at Silverset Park and speak often with neighbors. I have spoken to no onethat wants a tax increase. And none will vote for this.
The LMD's were and remain a bad idea. A tax increase will never be approved and it is foolish to spend city money on this effort.
I am certain that any number of my neighbors would be delighted to meet with you and havean informal discussion on this topic.
Please consider rejecting the staff recommendation.
Thank you for your consideration.

I am David Laspisa and I live at 12749 Treeridge Terrace also backing up to Twin Peaks Rd. I have resided theresince 1987. We have dealt with this issue since 1990 and have heard every excuse u see the sun. There are toomany references I can make over these years as I have a file an inch thick regarding this issue. Fact is the Cityshould have let the homeowners take care of this problem for them years ago. They did not! We agree with David, our neighbor, more taxes are not going to solve this issue. The City has collect the same tax for the last 5 years andnothing was done back there, not even watering. The area is a mess and actually an embarrassment to the City ofPoway.
