Acceptance of City Facilities General Maintenance and Repair - Wood 2021-22 Project, Bid No. 22-010 with GQ Builders, Inc. as Complete On May 17, 2022, City Council awarded the contract for City Facilities General Maintenance and Repair - Wood 2021-22 Project, Bid No. 22-010, to GQ Builders, Inc. in the amount of $71,000.00. This action will accept the project as complete.
Recommended Action :
It is recommended City Council:
(1) Accept the City Facilities General Maintenance and Repair-Wood 2021-22 Project as complete; (2) Authorize the City Clerk to file and record the Notice of Completion; (3) Authorize the release of the retention in the amount of $5,597.06, if unencumbered, 45-days after the City Council's acceptance;
(4) Release the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Bond for Material and Labor in the amount of $71,000.00 after the release of retention; and
(5) Retain the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company Bond for Faithful Performance for a period of one (1) year.
Discussion:
On May 17, 2022, City Council awarded the contract for City Facilities General Maintenance and Repair - Wood 2021-22 Project, in the amount of $71,000.00 to GQ Builders, Inc. The project originally included wood repair/replacement projects at Old Poway Park and the Poway Sheriff Station.
Two (2) change orders in the amount of $3,313.70 were processed for this project. The first change order was for the addition of a beam that was larger than specified in the RFB for $2,076.40. The second change order was for the repair of stucco and flashing for $1,237.30. Both additions took place at the Poway Sheriff Station . The final contract amount is $74,313.70. 1 of 2

Including the change orders, this project consisted of wood repair/replacement for the following City assets:
• Old Poway Park Gazebo wood replacement
• Old Poway Park Templar's Hall wood fencing replacement • Old Poway Park Nelson House wood fencing replacement
• Poway Sheriff Station Wood Arbor replacement
• Larger wooden beam at Poway Sheriff Station Wood Arbor replacement (additional item by change order)
• Stucco patch and flashing at Poway Sheriff Station Wood Arbor (additional item by change order)
Staff finds the project to be complete in accordance with the standards and specifications of the contract.
Environmental Review:
This action is not subject to review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Fiscal Impact:
This project was funded with Capital Facilities Renovation General Maintenance Wood Projects (MN026). Sufficient funds are available in the Capital Facilities Renovation General Maintenance Wood Projects (MN026) for release of retention .
