April 16th item #7 pull from consent calendars. Fwd: 11/7 Follow Up to community meeting for Harmon Ranch Sunday, April 14, 2024 2:12:05 PM
Some people who received this message don't often get email from [email protected]. I earn why this is important

EXTERNAL EMAIL
Council,
At April 2 meeting city staff presented that Harmon engaged with 40 people on 11/7 and failed to mention how many were supportive, negative or neutral. This reads as just a measure of compliance and not a Good faith engagement with the neighboring community since there was a petition with 533 signatures and 202 comments all OPPOSING the current project in addition to the I !emails and 18 written comments forms that were OPPOSING the current project. These numbers of community engagement were also missing and not reflected on the agenda "Summary" of item #7 written up by City manager and assistant city manager.

Below is my 11/8 Feedback form I sent to Lennar hoping for communications and future changes to the current project. On Feb 21 I turned to city staff as was written on poway .org asking for updates on Hannon and its results from community engagement and if there were any responses or changes to the presented project. I received no response until 3/13 and it was without answer but rather for me to give them a call. I tried engaging at every level of this project and with each stakeholder and have had no luck.

You, Council are the last line of defense for the residents of Poway. You have the power and the right to pull this item for more Good Faith and open conversations working with the neighboring community as to what would really make this Lennar development the perfect fit it could be if only they negotiated in real community benefits and not just "taller trees".

Includes: 11/7 feedback from with 2pics of playgrounds and !pie of big stone fireplace and pizza oven followed by Lennar response
All the Best

Thank you for coming to the open house for Harmon Ranch! We are working on consolidating the exhibit boards so they are small enough to email and preparing a Frequently Asked Questions document and project fact sheet. We will send those out as soon as they're ready.

In the meantime, I've attached the comment card here for those of you that were unable to fill one out at the event. Your comments are extremely helpful for us to identify opportunities to improve the plan. Please take a few minutes to complete if you're able.

The next project milestone is the public circulation of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). It's anticipated for next week, but we'll notify you when it's been published. (Please note, we will not include you if you declined to be added to the email list at check in) We understand that development leads to lots of questions and are available for one on one and small group meetings for anyone that is interested in digging into the details further.

Thank you again,
Arlene
