E-BIKE SAFETY TIPS
Stay Safe, Stay Smart!
E-bikes are a fun and eco-friendly way to get around Poway, but safety should always come first. Here are some tips to ensure your rides are safe.
Wear a Helmet: Always wear a properly fitted
helmet.
Follow Traffic Laws: Obey all traffic signals,
signs, and road markings. E-bikes are subject to
the same rules as regular bicycles.
Use Bike Lanes: Ride in designated bike lanes
whenever possible. If bike lanes are unavailable,
ride as far to the right as practical.
Be Visible: Wear bright clothing and use lights,
reflectors, and bells to make yourself visible
to motorists, especially at night or in low-light
conditions.
Ride Defensively: Be aware of your surroundings.
Watch for opening car doors, pedestrians, and other
cyclists.
Check Your E-Bike Regularly: Ensure your
e-bike is in good working condition. Check brakes,
tires, and battery life regularly.
Use Hand Signals: Always signal your intentions
to turn or stop. Clear communication with other
road users is key to avoiding accidents.
