I You don't often get email from [email protected]. Learn why this is important ... . .
To Poway City Council members,
I am writing in support of the proposal to upgrade/replace the current Poway Center for the Performing Arts sound system. As an annual client of the PCPA, I have rented the facility for the past 35+ years for dance recitals. I can attest to the fact that the current system is not up to industry standards. It is important for the PCPA to be current in all things in order to provide the most professional rental experience for all levels of clients. This Center is a jewel at the core of an amazing city. In order to keep this center viable, we must support and keep-current it's mechanics and more.
Please support the request to upgrade/replace the PCPA sound system. It is definitely needed and worth supporting.
Sincerely,
Debbora Childress

Hello Poway City Council,
Please consider this as an expression of support for the proposed new sound system at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts (PCPA).
The PCP A has been the home of the Poway Symphony Orchestra for many years. While we rarely need much electronic amplification, we support the PCPA staff wholeheartedly, as they have supported us. The Poway Symphony Orchestra is a proud member of the Poway community, and only wants the best for the PCPA.
I hope you will vote in favor of this sound system upgrade.
Thank you for your consideration.

Dear Members of the Poway City Council,
I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for the approval of the contract for the installation of a new sound system at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts (PCPA). As the Executive Director of Poway OnStage, I see firsthand the critical role that high-quality sound plays in delivering exceptional performances and engaging our audiences.
The current sound system, installed in 2009, has served us well but is increasingly unreliable and outdated. Emergency repairs and equipment rentals have become frequent and costly measures just to maintain functionality. These issues not only strain resources but also pose risks to the seamless execution of performances, which could impact audience satisfaction and our ability to attract high-caliber acts.
The proposed new system is a significant improvement, addressing not only the current shortcomings but also incorporating cutting-edge technology to meet modern performance standards:
• Enhanced Sound Quality: With dual JBL arrays, a central array for stereo sound capabilities, and innovative stage-front and under-balcony speakers, the new system ensures consistent, high-quality sound across all seating areas. • Industry Standards: The use of Yamaha mixers, digital processors, and Shure wireless microphones aligns the PCPA with the requirements of most touring acts, eliminating the need for costly equipment rentals and making us a more attractive venue for performers.
• Operational Flexibility: Designed for both professional staff and lay operators, the system will accommodate diverse events, from theater productions to live concerts, video presentations, and seminars.
• Performer Experience: Updated stage monitoring ensures performers can deliver their best work, further enhancing the overall production value of our shows.
The installation of this system will not only elevate the quality of experiences for our audiences and performers but will also position the PCPA as a competitive, modern venue in Southern California. This investment will support the city's commitment to arts and culture, boost economic activity through increased attendance, and solidify Poway's reputation as a hub for world-class performances.

I urge the Council to approve this vital project. The return on investment will be felt through greater operational efficiency, enhanced performance offerings, and continued community enrichment.
Thank you for your consideration and for your steadfast support of the arts in Poway.
Warm regards,
Sharlene
