Dear Mayor Vaus, City Council Members, or Whom it May It May Concern, I hope this message finds you well. As a dedicated resident of Poway, I am writing to express my concerns about the direction our city may take under the new council members. While Iunderstand change can bring new perspectives, I am worried about the potential for extreme measures that could negatively impact the prosperity and livability of our community, particularly for families.

Our city has been steadily growing, and with that growth comes the need for thoughtfuldevelopment that serves both new and long-time residents. A failure to approve sensible development projects will not only stifle progress but also push families and businesses toneighboring areas, ultimately leading to a loss of revenue and community vibrancy. Balance and growth are essential to maintaining our city’s budget, which in turn supports criticalservices like our firefighters, police, and schools.

I am concerned that some incoming council members lack the experience and collaborativespirit necessary to lead effectively. Their approach may cause division and harm rather than fostering unity and progress. It is crucial that we prioritize listening to residents, supportinglocal businesses, and ensuring decisions are made with the city's long-term well-being in mind.

I would also like to express my deep gratitude for the dedication and hard work of Councilmember Caylin Frank. She has consistently demonstrated a genuine commitment tounderstanding the needs of our community, maintaining open lines of communication with residents, and balancing state and city laws with the safety and welfare of our city as her toppriority. Her leadership and example should serve as a model for others on the council.

As the new council members begin their terms, I urge them to follow a path of balancedgrowth, collaboration, and respect for the voices of residents. Our city thrives when its leaders work together to serve the common good.

Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.

Sincerely,Kimberly and Andrew Macdonald
I
