D1 Special Election
Mayor Vaus, Councilmember Pepin,
Councilmember DeHoff,
Q ...
•••
We will not allow you to ever appoint another
Councilmember. You are threatening DEMOCRACY
and simply appointing someone who will agree
with you on battery plants, DEVELOPMENT, and
other self serving interests instead of following the
wishes of the majority of Poway residents. Council
vacancies will always be handled with the quickest
possible Special Election allowed by the Registrar
of Voters. If you ignore the will of the people, we
will immediately RECALL your appointed
Councilmember and force a Special Election by
ballot initiative. In the future, we will forever prevent Poway Mayors and Councils from appointing
Councilmembers by changing Poway from a
General Law to a Charter City and include in the
Charter a provision stating that ALL future Council
vacancies with terms greater than 12 months are
ALWAYS filled by a Special Election. DEMOCRACY
will be the rule in Poway, NOT BACK ROOM
POLITICS and NOT PAY TO PLAY.
