City of Poway - Capital Improvement Program (Public Facilities) City of Poway - Capital Improvement Program (Public Facilities) Description:

The project will install overhead rapid flashing beacons at each direction on Espola Road approaching Westling Court to alert vehicles of the oncoming fire-truck. A switch that controls the flashing beacons would be installed at Fire Station #2. Vehicles traveling at high speed on westbound Espola Road creates a safety hazard when departing the fire station. Additionally, block walls and fencing from new construction in the parcel across the street from the fire station has created visual obstructions of oncoming traffic.

Description:

This project will utilize existing traffic fiber optic network and install additional fiber optic infrastructure to interconnect City Hall with Poway Center for Performing Arts (PCPA) and Public Works Administration Building, which will support the Lake Poway Road Campus and facilities at the Lake. It will also extend traffic fiber network to signals on Espola Road at the following intersections:

High Valley Road, Titan Way, and Lake Poway Road.

City of Poway - Capital Improvement Program (Public Facilities) City of Poway - Capital Improvement Program (Public Facilities) Description:

This project adds two additional sidewalks: one from the lower restrooms to the parking lot (parallel to Valley Elementary School) and one from the parking lot roundabout to Oak Hall East. The Community Park needs assessment identified priorities that include improving/expanding walking paths. The sidewalk from the lower restrooms to the parking lot is the last piece that creates a path around the entire park. The area between the roundabout and Oak Hall East has already become a natural path of travel. By adding a sidewalk, we ensure safety and ADA compliance.

Description:

The Community Park needs assessment identified priorities that include signage throughout the park. This project includes entrance signs at the main and B&GC entrances, smaller entrance signs at Buckley and Slack Street, directional signage throughout Community Park, mile markers for the pathway, and interpretive panels along the creek near the ballfields/dog park and adventure playground.

The project would replace the inadequate and failing security camera system at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.

Replacing the security camera system will improve safety and security for the facility, staff, users, and patrons. Existing equipment does not meet coverage or function requirements and can no longer be repaired. New equipment must expand coverage and include adequate lighting or low-light infrared capabilities. This project will be reimbursed at 35% by PUSD after completion (funds will be received in FY26).

Description:

This project would replace the sound system at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts. The primary sound system at the PCPA was last upgraded in 2009 and some components are beginning to fail. Because all components must work together in a system, replacement of all items at once is necessary. This includes power distribution systems, mixers, patch bays, speakers, and associated equipment. Because the technology is always evolving, items will not be replaced on a one-for-one basis; rather, the new a system will meet or exceed the standard of the previous system to deliver professional sound throughout the venue. This system is required for the Performing Arts Center to function and host performances. This project will be reimbursed at 35% by PUSD after completion (funds will be received in FY26)

City of Poway - Capital Improvement Program (Public Facilities) City of Poway - Capital Improvement Program (Public Facilities) Description:

This project would add a roof structure over the Hamburger Factory dumpsters and grease trap and remove the berm around the dumpsters. The dumpster and grease trap enclosure used by the Hamburger Factory and maintained by the City is not currently covered. Stormwater pollution prevention regulations require the grease trap to be covered. Addition of a roof structure will prevent runoff of pollution from the dumpsters and grease trap.

Additionally, the berm surrounding the dumpster/grease trap collects rain water and should be removed.

Description:

This project consists of removing the upper wood structure including beams, fascia, soffit, roof, and roof deck. There is a large amount of termite and dry wood damage that needs to be
replaced. The structure will be replaced like for like, however the roof will have asphalt shingles rather than concrete tiles that are currently being used, which would be easier to maintain.
