CITY COUNCIL
Approval of Agreement Between the City of Poway and Convergint Technologies, LLC for the Purchase and Installation of an Electronic Security System at City Hall, Council Chambers, and Fire Station One
The existing camera security system at City Hall is limited to the main lobby and has outlived its useful life. Additionally, no security cameras currently exist for other areas of the City Hall campus including the Council Chambers and Fire Station One. The electronic security system upgrade project involves the replacement of the existing City Hall security camera system and installation of a total of 45 cameras that will be integrated into the City's existing enterprise level security control system utilized at other City facilities. The proposed system will enhance visibility within and around City Hall, Council Chambers, and Fire Station One to improve security at these sites.

Recommended Action:

It is recommended the City Council award the contract for the City Hall Campus and Fire Station One Security Upgrades project to Convergint Technologies, LLC in the amount of $155,657.33 and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement (Attachment A) and related documents.

Discussion:

The City Hall Campus and Fire Station One security upgrades project includes the replacement of an existing basic security camera system that monitors the City Hall lobby. The existing camera system has outlived its useful life and the City identified the need to enhance security at these sites. The City worked with the Department of Homeland Security to survey the sites and develop a recommended design for surveillance of the facilities. A Request for Proposals (RFP) #26-007 was issued on December 16, 2025, and a site walk with prospective vendors was completed on January 7, 2026. Seven proposals were received by the submission deadline of January 29, 2026.

The seven proposals were evaluated and ranked based on the four criteria as outlined in the RFP 1 of25
