Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available to the general Public for the scheduled City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting of February 17, 2022 - Agenda Item: 6 (request for Public funds)
(Submitted in accordance with Califomia's AB361)
Dear City of Rancho Mirage current Council,
These statements are in response to the continued reckless activities surrounding how Items are decided to be adendize by City officials. This Council has previously been made aware of their lack of transparency (Public monitoring) of the mysterious City procedures for Items to be placed on City's meeting agendas - like agenda Item: 6 of todays (Feb. 17, 2022) City Council meeting for the consideration of expelling City funds in the amount of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.) to a private organization that has a nationwide identifiable image (Children Museum).

The organization Children Discovery Museum of the Desert (CDMoD) have been very successful in obtaining financial donations and other incentives from the City of Rancho Mirage and other Valley Cities for a number of years. City of Rancho Mirage Council member Richard Kite was an active participant in retaining City resources for the CDMoD while he was drectly Involved with the CDMoD as a member of that Private non-profit organization Board of Directors.

City of Rancho Mirage current City Manager Isaiah Hagerman encouraged the City Council to allow City Govemment to manage financial investments of the CDMoD at No-Cost to that organization.

City of Rancho Mirage current (rotating) Mayor Ted Weill also indirectly supported the CDMoD with endorsements of CDMoD partner "The Hero in You Foundation" that have also collect revenue from the Residents of Rancho Mirage by action of City Council approval.

It's alarming that City Council Member's continue to flaunt how special interests are rewarded at taxpayers expense. Please consider that CDMoD has been underutilized for decades. Poor management may of been a major aspect of why that organization repeatedly asked for financial donations (help) to remain operating?
The CDMoD Rancho Mirage campus currently houses two (2) major telecommunication towers that produces lease agreement revenue to CDMoD. Along with having the City Manager overseeing monies deposited with the City by CDMoD (for Investment) appears to not have been enough (help) to support that private business while it remains shutdown to all customers.

It's clear that the current location and past CDMoD management plus the influences of Rancho Mirage City Council and special Interests have only prolonged a "Good Idea" (Children enlightenment) in the wrong location.

Cities with younger populations and highly visible site locations such as Indio and other Coachella Valley Cities would be Ideal to host business ventures like Children Museums (location-location!) Oppose - to City funds being deposited in special Interest ventures, thank you Sincerely,
