SUBJECT: Award of Contract to Three Peaks Corporation in the amount of $1,323,729.50 for the Wolfson Park Expansion Project (CP 20-364)
SPECIFIC REQUEST OR RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council award the contract for the Wolfson Park Expansion Project (CP 20-364) to Three Peaks Corporation in the amount of $1,323,729.50, with no contingency allowance.
JUSTIFICATION OR INFORMATION
Background:
In April of 2021, the City issued a Notice Inviting Bids for the Wolfson Park Expansion Project located at 70-001 Frank Sinatra Drive. The project will add approximately 1-acre to the existing
1.1-acre facility and add a parking lot (20-spaces), walking paths, picnic areas, seating, and entry elements. The addition will enhance the well used neighborhood park and connections to the Butler -Abrams Trail.
Discussion:
The bid closing date was April 12, 2022, and at that time staff received 5 sealed proposals. The results of the bids are listed below:

Urban Habitat (NON RESPONSIVE) $1,395,816.79
Marina Landscape $1,729,439.50
CALTEC Corporation $1,998,010.65
Parsam Construction, Inc. $2,391,160.00
After careful review, staff concludes that Three Peaks Corporation is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the project, and is qualified and capable of completing the project.
Fiscal Impact:
The total cost of the proposed contract will be $1,323,729.50 with no contingency allowance.
Funds are available in the General Fund (101/9475) and Development Impact Fee Funds (356/9475) for this project.
