Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available for public Inspection for the October 18, 2023 City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting - Agenda Item: 5 (extension(s) and refunds) Dear current City Council members,
Please consider sharing my stance of opposing the "sweetheart deals)" being proposed and soon will be potentially granted to the current section 31 developer from this very City Council.
The unusual measure of refunding "required deposits" (nearly three (3) million dollars) prior to completion of that project (grading) is unnecessary and a reckless activity if process by this City. The proposed completion of this grading project is now potentially the middle of November 2024 if this City Council supports the proposed "sweetheart deal".
Granting work extensions along with refunding deposits to section 31 current developer prior to the promised (Contract) language agreement is extremely dangerous to every City of Rancho Mirage Resident that will collect NO financial Interests from that construction project.
Once More the City has potentially obscure (hidden) the large numbers of concerned citizens that contacted City officials with complaints from numerous times that blowing dust/sand and potential contaminants were "allowed" to escape section 31 boundaries into neighboring communities.
City of Rancho Mirage officials and Council members have proven their loyalty to the development of section 31. It's been well documented that City Council members conducted themselves with utmost distain towards City Residents when meeting with section 31 property owners and developers in a private non- agendaized meeting. Having committed a potential "Brown Act meeting violation" the Citys current legal counsel (Steven Quintanilla and associates) worked to subvert ethical standards in the construction of NEW City policies for City Council members to vote on and approve which allowed ALL past actions of City Council members with "Ex-Officio" status to subvert potential illegal action in the future.
Congratulations on showing other Governmental agencies how to conduct City business in regards to allowing one's own (Council members) self appointed beliefs to directly dictate money making scheme's at the sacrifice of the City's future Image.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | Rancho Mirage, CA | [email protected]
