Majna Dukie, Director of Development Services, explained that no projects were currently proposed for the property; setbacks and locations would be established with each project.
Isaiah Hagerman, City Manager, added that commercial elements would not be directly adjacent to the Del Webb project, as there would be a residential zone buffer between Del Webb and any commercial projects.

Council Member Weill emphasized that all but $16 million of the $73 million in reserves was assigned to various categories. He spoke of unknown factors and contingencies that could occur at any time, such as COVID for which the City spent $10 million by necessity out of the reserves, in order to feed the most vulnerable people in the City. Council Member Weill commented that the budget looked outstanding and was a compliment to the entire staff.
Mayor Pro Tern Downs noted that the Great Plates Program allocated approximately $10 million to help restaurants and those in need during the pandemic, of which, about $8 million was reimbursable by FEMA. He added that about $6 million had already been reimbursed, with roughly $2 million still expected, and asked the status of the outstanding reimbursement.
Isaiah Hagerman, City Manager, explained that the entire Great Plates Program was reimbursable; however, it took years for the funds to be received by the City. He reported that the City had just received word that FEMA gave final approval for reimbursement of the remaining $2.2 million; the City expected to receive the funds within a week or so. He clarified that the Great Plates Program was about $8.5 million; the additional $1.5 million authorized by the Council was for other programs.
Council Member Weill noted that when the Council instituted the Great Plates Program, they had no knowledge that the City would be reimbursed. He added that the Council took the first step in reaching out to those in need and were fortunately in a position to advance those funds, with or without reimbursement.
