SUBJECT: Appointment of Council Member O’Keefe to Outside Agency Boards, Committees, and Commissions
SPECIFIC REQUEST OR RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council appoint Council Member O’Keefe to serve on the outside agency boards, committees, and commissions listed in the staff report.
JUSTIFICATION OR INFORMATION
On December 7, 2023, the City Council appointed Michael O’Keefe to fill the City Council vacancy created by the resignation of Richard W. Kite. Mayor Downs recommends that Council Member O’Keefe be appointed to serve on the outside agency boards, committees, and commissions on which Mr. Kite served, which are listed below:
Bighorn Institute (Alternate)
Coachella Valley Conservation Commission (Delegate)
Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert (Delegate)
Palm Springs Unified School District 2x2 Joint Committee (Delegate) Riverside County City Selection Committee (Delegate)
Nominations must be approved by a majority vote of the City Council. 12-1
