Attn: City Clerk/City Council/City Manager/General Public Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available for public Inspection for the April 4, 2024 (1:PM) City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting-Agenda Item: Non-Agenda Public comment and closed session topics
Dear current appointed and elected City officials,
Please consider the Public good over the willingness of this organization to dictate it's radical opinions over City of Rancho Mirage Resident's. See written statements for each agenda Items as listed below. 1) Agenda Item: Non-Agenda Public comment
Please consider corrective measures for the City of Rancho Mirage Councils illegal action of its most recent City Council close session meeting. As this body is aware, the City of Rancho Mi~age Council and legal team eliminated the public's right to be fully aware of actions taken in closed session and eliminate the ability for Informed public testimony on a selected agenda Item in relationship to a closed session topic (City Manager contract).

Please be aware of a high degree of embarrassment and disappointment in the City of Rancho Mirage - after seeing the Citys approved mayors press opinion article of March 26, 2024 in the Uken Report. It's crystal clear that the potential retaliation opinion piece (Uken Report -March 26, 2024) written (submitted under the name of: Steven Downs) attack article was a typical political maneuver to undermine selected city council candidates for the upcoming November 2024 election. This type of political maneuvering is common place for Rancho Mirage City Council members in past election cycles.

The current City Mayor (S. Downs) has decided to use "Our" City to defraud and defame a City Resident (Wayne Avrashaw) for potential political posturing. It appears that one's home ownership and activities within City boundaries and willingness to voice one's own opinions of how City Council governance

should work -is a reason for Mr. Downs {Current rotating City Mayor) to have a City approved opinion article (Uken Report) submitted to condemn a City Resident (Mr. Avrashaw) in a public forum.

It's crystal clear that "our" City Council could be approved -let's have "our'' current City Council members be "less" opinionated and better stewards of "our" community. 2) Agenda ltem(s): Closed sessions
Please consider the Public good over the willingness of City Council to throw money away at employees that deserve to be monitored for inconsistencies of their job performance.

Also, let's consider having the appointed City Clerk as an Elected position. Having been unsuccessful in contacting and having returned communications from both the City Clerk and City Manager have highlighted the need for accountability at City Hall.

Over the past election cycles -The current City Clerk was not available and unresponsive to requests for application requirements to run for Rancho Mirage City Council. It's reasonable to consider that having an elected City Clerk over the now established appointed position of City Clerk would help remove the potential appearance of having inconsistencies with who may be requesting City services (election papers) and who the current City Council is constructed of.

Sincerely,
Brad Anderson I Rancho Mirage, CA. I [email protected] Cc:
