Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available for public Inspection for the October 03, 2024 City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting - Agenda Item: 7. (Agreement with IID for Substation financial deposit)
Dear current Elected and Appointed City Council members, This letter is in opposition of this organization (City of Rancho Mirage) to further any expenditures from City of Rancho Mirage resources to place a sizable financial amount as a deposit (totaling 1/3 of the required amount) to the Imperial Irrigation District (IID) for the future delivery of equipment to construct a new IID substation to allow development to be build in areas of section 30 and potentially beyond.

The City of Rancho Mirage is working outside its normal duties as a city government.

Development should be financed by their investor's and or lender's. City resources shouldn't be used to "bankroll" developers (potential friends of the city). It's reasonable to consider that this City investment into a new substation will never be paid by the chief cause for the City of Rancho Mirage to "throw money" to secure a IID substation. And that cause would be "California's required low Income community housing projects".

It's clear that the current City Council will use City resources to benefit their enrichment schemes at the costs to residents and businesses that already paid their "fair share" when they entered the Great City of Rancho Mirage.

Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
