Attention: Clerk of the Board / City Manager / General Public Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available for public Inspection for the January 16, 2025 (1:PM) City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting - Agenda Item: 4 (Consent Calendar - Contracts)
Dear current Elected and Appointed City Council members, This letter is in opposition of this organization (City of Rancho Mirage) decision to perserve the administrative class within the City of Rancho Mirage at the cost of individual city employee(s). It's reasonable to consider that the under advertised employment promotion of a public works administrator to the title of Assistant City Manager was potentially connected to the elimination (reduction) of elements of the City's public works street division staffing.
This city resident is in opposition to expelling city resources (finances and city employees) for a potential six (6) year service Contract to the private sector business of "Retail Market Service, Inc." For shopping cart and litter removal at a proposed Twenty Four Thousand dollars ($24,000.) annually.
It's very suspicious that the private sector business of Vintage Landscape was able to obtain a City service contract that was priced higher than other competitors while not abiding by fair guidelines for the Citys Housing authority properties bidding process. It's clear that the City of Rancho Mirage has become "less clean" with noticeable trash and debris not being collected on City streets and sidewalks. While City Hall parking lots becoming extra crowded with Vintage Landscape company vehicles.
It's highly recommended to support the people that live in or near-by our City that actually do the work that keeps Rancho Mirage well maintained.
It's NOT reasonable to support City officials that conspired to eliminate (reduction) in City (Public works division) staffing to shift to utilizing contracted vendors without publishing (allowing citizens that knowledge) of the City "New" internal policy.
It's reasonable to consider that any external contracted vendor should enjoy "Prevailing Wages" for work that's performed for City of Rancho Mirage.
Please don't take any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this
opinion.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
