Re: Written response to City of Rancho Mirage Councils spoken remarks (verbal testimony) during April 3, 2025 regular scheduled City Council meeting - please distribute this correspondence (email) to City of Rancho Mirage elected and appointed City Council members.
Dear current Elected and Appointed City Council members, It's remarkably clear that selected current city council members have desires to advance their own status quo (special Interests) with city resources (taxpayer's supplied resources).
Please consider improvements surrounding how city staff interacts with each other while Rancho Mirage city controlled public meeting(s) are in session. It's been demonstrated that city officials selectively edit official recorded (broadcasted) city constructed audiovisual council meetings. That action (video editing) allows city officials (city manager) freedom to (hide) from public view while rapidly moving around board chambers along with external areas that are not seen by people in attendance at those public meetings. It was embarrassing to witness the City Manager and legal counsel interact with each other behind the rotating Mayors chair while (hiding) from public view. Please consider releasing audiovisual recording of city council meeting(s) once the official public meeting has ended (similar to how the Riverside County Board of Supervisors meetings are released for public disclosure).
Also, it's recommended to limit the use of city resources to construct audiovisual recording for exteral (non-city) organizations.
It appears that city council officials have absolute authority (No oversight from the public) to select friend(s) and or potential business relationships to advertise for city resources with (presentations given at City of Rancho Mirage Council meetings). It's recommended that selected political driven city council members abandon self-proclaimed victim status (cancer survivor) open announcements. Their are cancer patients (and unidentified Illnesses of individuals) that simply don't have the financial resources (unlike city supported health insurance services that are maintained for city officials) that don't proclaim victim status or seek pitty from surrounding community members. The attempt to gain public attention for addressing illness within themselves (selected council members) for potential political reasons is very concerning and extremely sad.
It was shameful that city staff potentially conspired to eliminate public testimony from being spoken in regards to agenda Item: 4 (City Council comment) in its entirety and at the appropriate moment. Please consider ethical standards that were violated because of the willingness of city officials to use censorship techies for potentially self-serving political Interests. It's nonsensical to request public testimony before ANY city controlled agenda Item information (reports) were supplied.
Potential disgruntled council member (Downs) unusual method of addressing consent agenda Items, placed this public speaker at a disadvantage. The refusal to follow public meeting best practices protocols appears to be normal operations of public censorship techies performed by Rancho Mirage city officials currently.
It's reasonable to consider that City of Rancho Mirage best practices protocols in regards to California State regulations (public meetings) have been abandoned (eliminated).
Please consider this letter as official noticed of potential Implementation of compliance ramifications (official complaint) against the City of Rancho Mirage, Riverside County
California for it's willingness to officially approved city constructed California State written recorded public meeting minutes that was known to be censored (Incorrectly manufactured) by city officials (City Clerk) with out appropriate approval of all parties involved to modify (Agenda Item: 6.A).
Please don't take any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions in regards to the above listed suggestions and proposed correctional request.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
