Re: Written comment(s) - Agenda Item: 6A. (Meeting Minutes - April 3, 2025) and Agenda Item: 6B. (Contracts - Capital Advocacy, LLC @ $10,000. Per/Month) Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Please review the written statements listed below prior to the consideration of each agenda Items as listed.
1) Agenda Item: 6A. (April 3, 2025 City Council meeting minutes) Position: In Opposition
It's strongly recommend to NOT approve the presented city of Rancho Mirage constructed Council meeting minutes for April 3, 2025.
It's remarkably clear that the City of Rancho Mirage have decided to censor public testimony that has been freely volunteered by city residents and guests during City of Rancho Mirage public meeting(s) held under it's authority.
Please be advised that the City's constructed April 3, 2025 council meeting minutes omitted discussion topics of ALL verbal testimony of non-agenda public comment speakers (Agenda Item: 3). It's reasonable to consider that non-agenda public speaker were recorded differently (omitting key elements) than any of the other recorded (meeting minutes) individuals that provided verbal testimony during that public meeting (discrimination techniques (actions of censorship) against selected Individuals).
Public comment that was provided for Agenda Item: 4 (Council Member Comments/Reports) was omitted (eliminated) from the April 3, 2025 constructed meeting minutes.
Public comment(s) that were provided in regard to the April 3, 2025 Consent calendar (Agenda Item: 6A. / 6C) refused to list the public speakers (Brad Anderson) Agenda Item(s) of discussion and position (stance) taken.
Also, Council member (Downs) felt compelled to provide verbal comment during Agenda Item: 6B. (Reading aloud ALL Board and Commissioner's name's) and possibly responding to
written statements (submitted by the public) in regards to Agenda Item: 6C. (Contracts).
Those unusual political maneuvers were also omitted from the official public record (written meeting minutes).
Please be made aware, that other inaccurate (omitted) recordings may still be undetected in the proposed April 3, 2025 City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting minutes. It's reasonable to consider reinstating brief description summary formatted meeting minutes protocols for every person that provides public testimony (verbal comment) during City held public meetings. Abandoning the citys false pretext that was provided to install (titled: Action Minutes) procedures would be an honorable action by city officials. 2) Agenda Item: 6B. (Contracts - Capital Advocacy, LLC) Position: In Opposition
It's strongly recommend to abandon the motivation to expel city held resources (proposed retainer of $10,000. Per/Month plus additional potential expenses) for a contracted period of one year.
Tax collected dollars shouldn't be engaged with lobbying groups that are unaccountable to the general public. Similar organizations (Such as: City Clerks Association of California) are supported largely by governmental agencies that redirects tax collected dollars to those unaccountable lobbyists (organizations).
It's critical that city held resources be retained and external Interests (Capital Advocacy, LLC) and other similar lobbyists organizations be advised that public monies are normally managed by ethical standards and not freely volunteered to friends of political representatives and or special Interests.
Please don't take any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions.
