Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 5A. (Zoning Text Amendment Case No.
ZTA25-0001 (Omuibus Ordinance))
Dear City of Rancho Mirage,
Simply this type of "amendment" (proposed Omuibus Ordinance) will ONLY harm City of Rancho Mirages residents and businesses that currently have property and or live and or work within city of Rancho Mirage boundaries. City residents that have decided to enjoy there communities will suffer the most (reduced freedoms and stricter restrictions/negtive land impacts).
The MANY proposed amendments and repealing and replacing of chapter 17.32 (Wireless Communication Facilities) will ONLY benefit increasing city controls of the population (residents) while limiting the high level of quality of life that residents of Rancho Mirage once enjoyed.
Conditions such as limiting the amounts of residents (groups of people) that can enjoy neighborhood parks (Group Use of Parks) is truly Immoral and nonsensical. Similar situation was applied (unjustified mandated) by the current City manager in regards to having out-door activities (yoga) preformed within city parks during the most recent virus narrative event where extreme measures were enlisted by city officials that were found to be incorrect and simply nonsensical to any reasonable person.
(Camping Regulations) proposed amendment will potentially outlaw aspects of homelessness.
Rancho Mirage City manager once proclaimed that homelessness is not a crime (or words to that effect).
Other Coachella Valley Cities have installed similar municipal codes in regards to (Shopping Cart Management) - such control measures by city governments are simply an avenue to surcharge property owners for the Citys lack of ability to control criminal activity (potential homelessness).
Repealing and Replacing Chapter 17.32 (Wireless Communication Facilities) was addressed by this Resident during the April 24, 2025 (2:PM) City of Rancho Mirage Planning Commission meeting (PUBLIC HEARING - Agenda Item: 6C.)
Public testimony was provided along with submitted written statements (dated: April 21,
2025). It's critical to state - that City of Rancho Mirage officals refused to record verbal testimony within the citys generated written meeting minutes of this public speaker provided public testimony and official stance taken (In Strong Opposition) of that and other amendments during that citys planning commission meeting (PUBLIC HEARING).
It's critical to consider that property boundary setbacks of communication facilities need to be addressed. Debris from fragmenting infrastructure (see exhibit A, during public presentation of this agenda Item) and or other potential damaging elements (fire/major damage ect...) that would enter other nearby properties and potentially cause major destruction.
Please don't take any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
