Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 8A. (City Manager- employee performance evaluation) closed session topic
Dear current elected and appointed City of Rancho Mirage Council members, Please consider allowing citizens the opportunity to chime in (participate) in the the people's business (city government). It's highly recommended to construct and distribute a written form (document) that would highlight the current City managers yearly achievements and future goals. That form could than be used to have local community members submit their written recommendations of city officials (Council members and their contracted city director/manager) with suggested improvements and or other options in regards to work performance of the current city manager.
Please consider that extreme measures were enlisted to discourage public testimony/participation with city of Rancho Mirage governance. Local media networks have been compromised and have allowed for selected censorship techniques to impact fair and unbiased reporting of certain events and stories that originated from Rancho Mirage.
It's highly unlikely that a fair and transparent procedure will be shared of how a city employee continues to increase their compensation/benefits to an absorbed amount. While city expenses are ever rising and additional employees are assigned (City Manager Assistant) with NO known public disclosure (announcement) while other city departments are eliminate.
It's worth noting, during the last proceeding to advance the city managers wages it was stated by city council member (Weill) that the city manager had several duties (Energy Authority Director). Recommendation to massively increase the City Managers compensation benefits was approved by that council, please consider that their was NO employment position of:
Assistant City Manager at that time.
Please consider that the current City manager how has an assigned assistant manager (current city employee with muilt work positions). City manager also enjoys different work positions himself (senior management analyst) that's currently assigned as a different employment position with a compensation package,
Citys such as: (Desert Hot Springs and City of Bell) had similar situations with extremely
over-paid employees that were not fully disclosed to the residents that funded thoses compromised city governments.
Please don't take any futher reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions.
