Re: Written comment in regards to Agenda Item: 7.D (proposed TWO MILLION DOLLAR ($2,000,000.00) "Gift" to Eisenhower Health Foundation) Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Position: In Strong Opposition to the unannounced gifting of city resources It's reasonable that a major employer in the Coachella Valley region would ask for financial support from the city from which that organization operates. Financial grants should be considered if other organizations have the same opportunity to apply for those proposed "grants". This proposed grant appeared to ONLY be open to Eisenhower Health Foundation and NO OTHER organizations, ONLY after being requested from City of Rancho Mirage officials. It's simply a "gift" to one organization that requested financial resources from city officials after the city's prepared budget was released for public review.
Child care services for one organization (Eisenhower Health) shouldn't be place upon the residents of the city to help finance that endeavor. Other avenues should be considered before expelling general funds from this years current "surplus" and unassigned reserves, if needed (as stated in the citys staff report).
It's reasonable to consider that current City Council members have demonstrated their loyalty to organizations that supported extreme measures to isolated individuals during a recent virus narrative event while collecting mastive amounts of resources from the federal government.
Having a "private" child care center for ONLY Eisenhower Medical Center staff will not improve the overall community safety and access to medical care.
Please reconsider any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
