Re: Written comment in regards to Agenda Item: 7. (Non-Agenda Public Comment) Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Again - City of Rancho Mirage officials have chosen to cloud transparency of City operations. It's reasonable to consider that rotating Mayor (Weill) purposely imposed the "Adjourned" meeting during the conclusion of the City of Rancho Mirage regular scheduled council meeting of June 5, 2025 - where NO general public would be potentially monitoring those proceedings. Rotating Mayor's announcement of the very unique and unusual political maneuvers to place the title of "Adjourned" meeting during the June 5, 2025 city meeting is potential an unlawful action (morally wrong) and totally unreasonable.
Its clear that any public meeting that may conflict with a holiday should be rescheduled and noticed (posted) as a "special" meeting.
The action to delay the June 5 2025 City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting to June 18, 2025 to accommodate a known holiday wasn't performed correctly by that governmental agency.
It's NOT reasonable to conclude that a city conducted public meeting that is noticed (72 hours) in advance of the posted meeting would be considered a "Regular meeting".
Please be advised that the unethical action of having an additional agenda Item (agenda Item:
10.A) after a close session meeting in regards to increasing the current City Managers benefits during the June 5, 2025 regular scheduled City Council meeting. It's alarming how city resources are being squandered by current City Council members.
Please be reminded of the current City Council and contracted staff members "TOOK" free speech away from city residents and guests. The city's action to reposition Non-Agenda public comment away from the long well established position towards the beginning of city held precived open public meetings was extreme and a blanted attempt to disenfranchised public testimony. Along with the citys action of censorship techniques in recording public testimony provided during public meetings held under it's authority (written meeting minutes).
Its clear the council members comments/reports are not available for public Inspection or disclosure as required by California State law.
The continued unethical behavior (actions) of selective city council members and city staff will harm the citys relationship with ethical individuals that may desire to perform business activities within the citys boundaries and or surrounding communities.
Please reconsider any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
