Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 3. (City Council member comments/reports)
Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Please review my written statements listed below prior to the consideration of continuing to restrict verbal public testimony during City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting(s) in regards to City Council members comments/reports (agenda Item: 3) Summary of City of Rancho Mirage council members spoken statements during the council meeting of June 5, 2025 with commentary.
1) Council member (O'Keefe) felt compelled to excessively share his personal choice and his own believes in regards to a newly declared month long event that is unrecognized by many Californians. It was refreshing that he still remains an advocate for unwanted animals that are held by county resources which are supply by his and other representatives willingness to conspire with Riverside County officials to fund certain elements of those departments. 2) Council member (Downs) decided to cause more distress and concern with statements in regards to the muilt-year continuing process of having a decaded "CV-Link" (Path/Trail) called the "Art & Music Line" thats administer through Coachella Valley Association of Government (CVAG).
The city of Rancho Mirage had the ability to NOT approve that aspect of (CVAG) plan.
It's reasonable to consider that (CVAG) CV-Link planning and construction have been excessive and with conflicts in regards to its funding. It's clear that areas that have been constructed (CV-Link) are NOT MAINTAIN in an appropriate manner. Personal safety while using those areas of the CV-Link are NOT REASONABLE and should be examined for better solutions.
It's predictable that CV-Link will be used in an inappropriate fashion in the future and will require mastive amounts of funding for its up-keep and security. 3) Council member (Mallotto) showed her willingness to pander to selected Individuals that may prolong her current position.
4) Council member (Weill) felt compelled to share comments that were unusual (unlikely) and potentially a political maneuver.
Please don't take any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
