RE: Support for Item 6B – Rancho Mirage Affordable Apartments Dear Mayor Kite and Councilmembers,
On behalf of the Inland SoCal Housing Collective, a regional network of housing and community development partners working to ensure that every Inland Empire resident has access to a safe, stable, and affordable home, we are proud to support Item 6B advanc ing the Rancho Mirage Affordable Apartments.

This 150-unit affordable housing community will provide urgently needed homes for working families and reflects the kind of regional partnership and civic leadership we need more of across Riverside County. By utilizing City-owned land and working collaboratively with development partners, Rancho Mirage is delivering a model for local governments that are serious about addressing California’s housing challenges.

This development will:
• Help meet the needs of regional employers and Rancho Mirage families—from hospitals and hotels to schools and small businesses—who rely on a workforce that too often cannot afford to live nearby.
• Create multi-bedroom units for large families, one of the most underrepresented housing types in the region.
• Advance housing equity in an area where affordable options have long been out of reach for essential workers.

Rancho Mirage is proving that when cities step up, regional solutions follow. We urge you to approve Item 6B and keep moving this project forward.

With appreciation,

Melanie Steele
On behalf of the Inland SoCal Housing Collective
