DEAR MAYOR KITE AND DISTINGUSHED COUNCIL MEMBERS
At Lift to Rise, we are honored to work alongside partners across the Coachella Valley to expand housing stability and economic opportunity for all. As a proud collaborator with the City of Rancho Mirage through the Housing Collaborative Action Network (CAN), a collaborative with over 70 cross sector partners organized around the shared goal of reducing rent burden by 30% through the production of 10,000 affordable units, we are thrilled to support Item 6B. This approval will advance the Rancho Mirage Affordable Apartments—a 150-unit affordable housing community for working families.
Rancho Mirage has long been a valued partner in regional housing planning. This project is a powerful demonstration of how the City is turning commitment into results—moving from planning to action with urgency, vision, and collaboration.
We are especially encouraged by:
• The creation of 150 new affordable homes that will serve families and essential workers—responding to one of the most critical housing needs in our region.
• The City’s leadership in making public land available, advancing approvals on a fast-moving timeline, and helping the development team meet key funding milestones.
WHEN THE SUN RISES, IT RISES FOR EVERYONE
• Clear alignment with regional housing goals, including those identified through the Housing CAN’s shared priorities.
This is exactly the kind of bold, locally led solution we need more of. Rancho Mirage shows how cities can lead—with partnership, purpose, and a deep understanding of what it takes to make housing a reality.
As National CORE has been a longtime partner in our collaborative and shown exemplary dedication to producing quality housing at affordable rates, we respectfully urge you to approve Item 6B and thank you for your continued leadership in advancing housing and equity across the Coachella Valley.
Yours Sincerely,
Jessika Pollard
