Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 4.A. of the City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting scheduled for September 18, 2025 (1:PM)
Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Please review my written statements listed below prior to the consideration of agenda Item:
4.A. (written meeting minutes of September 4, 2025 city council meeting).
As this unique and unusual political power (City Council) is well aware of it's unethical approval of written meeting minutes during the city of Rancho Mirage Council meeting of September 4, 2025. Public Comment (verbal testimony) was received during that meeting stating inconsistencies with the written meeting minutes under discussion. It's reasonable to consider that city officials are willing to serve their own personal enrichment over abiding by ethical standards of city business (good governance) with that blanted approval of written meeting minutes that were reported to be inaccurate.
It's noticeable that the September 4, 2025 city prepared written meeting minutes have been constructed to censor public testimony that was verbalize during that California State (city of Rancho Mirage) public meeting. It's refreshing that one adjustment was made by city officials to include (list) agenda consent item (agenda Items: 5.A/5.B/5.C/5.F) within written meeting minutes that enlisted agenda Items that were selected by a public speaker for verbal testimony. But unfortunately city officials refused to publish the speakers brief description and if any stances were indicated for each agenda Item that were discussed.
It's reasonable to consider that city officials have decided to eliminate accountability of it's staff by NOT recording agenda Item: 6.A public verbalize testimony that was provided in regards to that California State public hearing topic (PUBLIC HEARING- agenda Item: 6.A).
It's potentially Illegal that public testimony (discord) supplied during city conducted public meetings were censor and or eliminate by city officials within it's written meeting minutes.
It's reasonable to consider that Non-Agenda Public comment is currently required to be heard during most California State open public meetings. It's also reasonable that public comment (verbal testimony) also be recognized and recorded accurately within written meeting minutes of those public processing.
Public speaker(s) during the September 4, 2025 City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting (NON-AGENGA PUBLIC COMMENT) openly made verbal statements in regards to city council member (Downs) being absent and excused by council members in attendance without ANY public disclosure of the reason for the excuse by city council.
It's reasonable that open public disclosure of excused absence(s) be entered into the public record with a brief description (reason) for that absence.
It's highly recommended that city officials (city council/city clerk/current city counsel) abandon the motivation to censor selected verbal testimony provided during city constructed public meeting(s).
Please reconsider any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions expressed.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
