Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item(s): 5.A,C,D & E (consent calendar agenda topics)
Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Please review my written statements listed below prior to the consideration of each agenda Item in open session.
1) Agenda Item: 5.A. (Proposed written meeting minutes approval of April 2, 2026 regular city council meeting)
Position: In Opposition
The presented draft written meeting minutes of the April 2, 2026 regular scheduled City Council meeting are incomplete.
The presentation of (Shay's Warriors) recorded meeting minutes neglected to display the TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000.00) of city resources expelled to the unique organization.
Agenda Items: 6.A. and 7. Had No recored written summary of concerns and opinions expressed by individuals that provided verbal testimony. It's reasonable to consider that city officials desire to censor Public testimony and conceal city operations from community members.
2) Agenda Item: 5.C. (SB 1 requirements and city officials desire to obscure projections) Position: In Opposition (as presented)
Frank Sinatra Drive low water crossing shouldn't be assigned. City of Rancho Mirage officials decided to redraw their prior support to have an active role in an extraordinary extreme measure of constructing the longest traffic bridge in the Coachella Valley region.
The true intentions of having that bridge build are still unknown to many. But having long term sights on increase tourism and easy access from major infrastructure (I-10) to local casinos/hotels would explain city council members willingness to continue with lobbyists influences.
It's well known that this past year and beyond - the Frank Sinatra Dr. Low Water crossing has been neglected by city operations. It's reasonable to consider that such abandonment of an active transportation route for non-motored vehicles and foot traffic may result in an increase in avoidable accidents.
It's reasonable to consider that potentially funding of sites that results in avoidable accidents may be motivational aspects to exteral interests.
3) Agenda Item: 5.D. (Contracts)
Position: In Opposition
Both agenda listed contacts are extremely over priced.
1) Savant Solutions, proposed increase TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($25,000.00) For listed exsisting email protection (proofpoint) is extreme and unwarranted. 2) Universal Construction and Engineering, amendment - CP 22-378 for city improvements that were foreseeable by city officials should be denied.
It appears that this request may be business as usual for city officials but remains wasteful spending of local resources.
Having the unique pleasure of viewing the recent constructed site (White Water Park) it was alarming that sidewalks were missing along major areas of the traffic involved street. It's reasonable to consider that major construction projects will intrude that park when the benefactor of the underpriced sale of city property (well-site) and it's water line easements starts construction to have water delivered to their private golf course and surrounding properties in the future.
4) Agenda Item: 5.E. (Demands)
It's highly recommended to announce in open Public meetings of intentions to release city funds to organizations that city council members maybe aligned with and or have benefited from.
Of course having an organization (company) supply city council members snacks during close session meetings should be reconsidered.
OBK Corporation - $138.94 (refreshinments city council April 2, 2026) And expelling $10,000.00 to the group (Shay's Warriors) should be openly announced to city residents that supplied that money to be given so easily away by elected and non-elected
officials.
Please limit any attempts to re-name disbursements in the Citys journals to hide those disbursements from certain citizens.
It's been established that the organization Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District attempted to change disbursement titles to obscure the public's ability to monitor that unusual political organization.
Thank you for continued transparency of city released demands being recorded.
Please don't take any reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions expressed.
Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc:
