Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 7.B.
Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Please review my written statements prior to the consideration of agenda Item: 7.B. (city officials desire to change established California State regulations (law) to redirect collected tax revenue - AB 1112)
Position: In Opposition
Simply put, City of Rancho Mirage officials constructed an avenue (Community Services District - CSD*) in an attempt to secure financial resources/authority. It appears that California State legislature was aware of cities attempts to gain financial resources through deceptive methods and constructed a roadblock to secure financial resource disbursement in an equity matter.
Hopefully city officials are willing to share data with residents of total expenses paid in association with attempting to change California State law in a non-transparent city operation. * - Please be reminded of the City's reconstruction of officially produced public meeting agendas that highlighted the many different constructed city agencies (CITY COUNCIL,
ENERGY AUTHORITY, HOUSING AUTHORITY, JOINT POWERS FINANCE
AUTHORITY, LIBRARY AND OBSERVATORY, REDEVELOPMENT SUCCESSOR AGENCY BOARD and of course the "COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT" that share the same date for each meeting agenda. The newly created city meeting agenda that highlighted (CSD) may be associated with the City's desires to build (AB 1112).
It's reasonable to consider that city officials have lost the trust of city residents when actions of
city officials are hidden from full public disclosure.
