Mayor and Council Members:
I reviewed Item 5F, Register of Demands, and had questions regarding two expenditures listed on Agenda Packet
First, the Register includes a payment of $251,238.85 to Zetroc Electric LLC for City Hall electrical panel upgrades.
This is a significant expenditure, and I do not recall discussion of this project during the recent town halls, budget workshops, or council meetings that I attended. Additional information would be helpful regarding the need for this project, including whether it was a planned and budgeted improvement, a response to equipment failure, a code- compliance requirement, or an emergency repair. It would also be helpful to know whether additional phases or costs are anticipated.
Second, the Register includes a payment of $9,639.30 to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians for "Cultural Monitoring Services – Street Related Repairs." Additional information would be helpful regarding the specific project involved, the nature of the services provided, whether this is a routine requirement associated with certain public works projects, and whether similar costs are expected in future projects.
I am not suggesting either expenditure was improper. Rather, these two items stood out during my review of the Register and would benefit from additional explanation.
If possible, I would appreciate these questions being addressed on the record during consideration of Item 5F so that the information is available to all interested residents reviewing the meeting record.
