Our Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
The Salvation Army is more than just bell ringers and Red Kettles at Christmas.
Few know the role the organization plays in helping those in need and who are suffering, and in tackling the biggest problems facing our communities.
The Salvation Army serves the whole person-emotionally, physically, spiritually.
How We Serve
The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps/Dick & Beverly Davis Community Center was founded in 2005 and serves the entire Coachella Valley.
In addition to spiritual services and worship, throughout the entire year we provide social services, food and meals, and residential assistance to individuals, seniors, and families; after school, and youth initiative development programs; services specifically for our veterans; emergency disaster services; among many of the other ways in which we provide a hand-up, not just a hand-out.
The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps/Dick & Beverly Davis Center provides hope and help to all no matter who they are, where they are, or how they arrived. Our faith-based mission embraces that all people are treated with dignity, and no one is defined by their challenges or circumstances.
Fiscal Stewardship
Nationally, 82 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army goes directly toward funding Salvation Army initiatives. All the money stays within the community in which it was given.
Our Campus
The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps/Dick & Beverly Davis Community Center is located at 30-400 Landau Boulevard, Cathedral City, CA. Our campus comprises our administrative and programs' offices, a chapel, community kitchen and dining/community room, pantry and freezer storage rooms, classrooms, counseling rooms, Mr. Willard's Closet, music and computer rooms, and our gym. We invite you to visit our campus to see for yourself how we strive to do the most good.

Our Service Programs
Youth Programs
The Salvation Army is committed to the development of youth into responsible adults through a variety of programs. Our sports programs at the Cathedral City Corps' Davis Center teach the importance of responsibility and teamwork through respect and personal improvement. We provide a safe place to socialize and grow through our After School Program. Summer provides growth and fun opportunities for youth in our Summer Day Camp, and a weeklong experience at The Salvation Army's Camp Daley summer camp in Malibu/Calabasas area. Through our Angel Tree Christmas Program and our Adopt-A-Family Program, we match children ages 5-12 with individuals through contributions of age-appropriate gift items or by financial contributions. The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps also provides mentoring and music education throughout the year. Our seasonal Back to School Program assists financially challenged families by providing backpacks, and school supplies to children.
Veterans' Programs
Through The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps' unique VEAP (Veterans Easy Access Program), we continue to expand services for, and find resources that benefit veterans who are struggling with physical and financial issues. We sponsor an annual Veterans' Expo which helps bring veterans in touch with support services they may require. We publish a monthly Veterans newsletter "Readback" to keep veterans throughout the country informed of services and Veteran events. We are looking to expand our program to serve more Veterans throughout the Coachella Valley.
Social Service Programs
Hunger and homelessness are major problems in the Coachella Valley. The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps helps people overcome hunger, and assists people faced with the issues of homelessness. Groceries and Food Boxes are handed out to all who come to us. Food Boxes to Seniors are an exceptionally important part of our service to that community. We host our annual Thanksgiving Day Community Holiday meal, as well as provide Dinner meal items to households for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We provide Utility and Rental assistance, an ever growing need which we struggle to meet with our limited financial resources.
Emergency Disaster Services
Providing assistance to those affected by personal or major disaster has always been a hallmark of The Salvation Army. We at the Cathedral City Corps participate in providing emergency disaster services through water and meals' delivery, and assisting victims in their search for housing and rebuilding through available funds, and referral to appropriate other service organizations.
