Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 7.A. (Proposed Resolutions No. (Unassigned) to consider filings SALES TAX INCREASE for an upcoming election cycle) Position: In Opposition
Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, As this unique body of elected and appointed (NOT SELECTED BY CITY RESIDENTS) Council members are well aware. This proposed action to place a general Tax measure on the ballot for November 3, 2026 general municipal election. Along with imposing setting rules associated with written arguments in regards to the consideration of the listed proposal. Has been conspired upon by this body and city administrators with NO known prior public disclosure from city officials STAND ALONE decision to place this conspired upon agenda Item for the City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting of July 16, 2026.

It's clear that city residents were not supplied with a full accurate accounting of city resources and expected expenditures. It's reasonable to consider that City of Rancho Mirage officials have dismissed the City population from their selfishly non-transparent method of city governance.

It's reasonable that City residents (qualified voters) should have the opportunity to consider the listed proposal. It's also reasonable that residents be informed of the costs associated with having the city of Rancho Mirage advanced their attempt to increase city SALES TAX (Registrar of Voters special election billable costs plus City of Rancho Mirage staff time).

Please be reminded, of City Council sole discretion to avoid accountability by NOT HAVING A FAIR UNBIASED ELECTION to fill a vacated City Council position. Costs of having city residents elect their candidate for city council was detailed as the reason for City officials Non-transparent appointment procces. It's highly recommended to disclose ALL costs related to having this agenda Item (7.A.) recommended to city residents and potentially advanced to the November 3, 2026 State Wide election process.

Please refrain from any futher reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions expressed.

Sincerely,
Brad Anderson | 37043 Ferber Dr. Rancho Mirage, CA. 92270 Cc
