Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 5.B. (Special Appointment to: Community Culture Commission)
Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, Be advised that a complete understanding of HOW and WHO is slected to be nominated and most likely positioned to an appointment is yet undetermined by this individual.
It's reasonable that other desirables Candidates have already applied for City of Rancho Mirage many different constructed commissions. And again it's reasonable that applicants maybe available if called upon to serve their community.
It's odd that an "Appointed" City Council member that was selected by other City Council persons, and NOT elected to that city council position by the population that Council claims to represent. Has the authority to nominate a individual at will for that commission without known consideration of prior candidates for that or other city controlled sub-committees.
It's highly recommended to explain (avoiding political spill) in regards to this nomination and others to the public in open session during the October 15, 2026 City of Rancho Mirage Council meeting.
