Re: Written testimony in regards to Agenda Item: 5.E. (City requested expansion of contracted services / Tree Maintenance (West Coast Arborist, Inc.) Dear current elected and appointed City Council members, It appears that City governance has confessed that citizens may be placed in potential danger from "accumulation of historic deferred maintenance" of city trees. And because of our Citys commitment to PUBLIC STAFTY and thirst to spend as much money as possible (as fast as possible) has constructed a unique contract amendment that nearly tripled the original contracted amount for a vendor that "works closely with selected city officials".
Please be reminded of city officials (administrators) desired to eliminate City department(s) with exteral contacted private sector businesses conducting CIty of Rancho Mirage governmental duties. It's been noticeable that City Sidewalks/Streets are much dirtier and unkempt sence that "policy" was installed by administration action ONLY.
It's reasonable to consider that City officials decided to redirect costs from selected departments (feet on the ground personal) to other administration members (contracted assisted City Manager/City Manager) and their equipment (Expensive vehicles / travel expenses) instead of investing in people that live and work within our community that truly earn their wages.
Please refrain from any further reprisal actions against my private property or person for reporting this true and accurate summary of concerns and opinions expressed.
