Code Enforcement has officially implemented a Courtesy Notice process, which may be issued by mail or posted on-site. The Courtesy Notice provides property owners an opportunity to correct violations prior to formal enforcement action.
Early implementation has already reduced costs associated with formal notice processing and is expected to increase voluntary compliance. • Updated Fee Schedule (In Development):
Code Enforcement continues to develop an updated fee schedule to support cost recovery for enforcement activities, including inspections, administrative time, and notice processing. This effort remains ongoing.
• Text-to-Comply / Call-Back Program (Under Evaluation):
Code Enforcement is continuing to research the feasibility of implementing a Textto-Comply and Call-Back Program. This program would allow property owners to submit photographic evidence of compliance and may reduce the need for repeat site visits.
• Interagency Coordination and Program Development:
Code Enforcement is actively coordinating with Tehama County Code Enforcement and other jurisdictions to enhance its Code Enforcement Program and overall fines and fees structure. Code Enforcement is also working to develop a resource network to assist property owners and occupants in achieving compliance. • Special Assessment Lien Program (In Progress):
Code Enforcement is working with the Tehama County Auditor-Controller to develop procedures for the placement of special assessment liens on the tax roll to recover fines and abatement costs.
