Subject: South Jackson Street Sewer Phase 2 Project – Amendment #1 Dear Ms. Kampmann,
We appreciate the opportunity to continue supporting the successful delivery of the South Jackson Street Sewer Phase 2 Project. As the design has progressed and the project’s technical requirements have become more clearly defined, additional structural engineering expertise from Burne Engineering is necessary to ensure that specific project elements, such as grading along the eastern boundary of the project is addressed appropriately. Also, the need for an alternative controller type at the pump station has necessitated additional work for the electrical engineer to make the appropriate changes to the controller in the construction document package, in particular, for the pump station.
To that end, we respectfully request a contract amendment to incorporate additional structural engineering and pump station design services into the project. Specific tasks are as follows:
1. Retaining Wall Design Along the Eastern Project Boundary Structural design and analysis of a retaining wall required at the project boundary, including evaluation of site constraints, preparation of plans, specs, calculations and a cost estimate for construction.
2. Revision of Construction documents for pump station to ensure compliance with new controller type.
Fee for Additional Services
The proposed fee for the services described above is $31,400.
