Subject: Open Letter to City Council Regarding Item P.1. for February 1, 2022 CAUTION: Email is from an external source; Stop, Look, and Think before opening attachments or links.
Can you please include the following letter as a formal submission to City Council. Please also acknowledge receipt due to known past issues with emails arriving to redondo.org addresses.
It is very disappointing that the personal grudges and vendettas by Brand, Nehrenheim, and now through Obagi and Lowenstein are corrupting our local politics. You are just wasting our public resources and ultimately tens of thousands of dollars of our tax money on a personal issue. That is all this is. My personal lawsuit aimed to expose dark information regarding the inner workings of our Mayor and his friends. Removing me from the GPAC demonstrates your inability to work on behalf of the all the citizens of Redondo Beach. Being on City Council is not supposed to be about selfserving corruption and misappropriation of the money our taxes pay, it’s about welcoming all voices and going in a direction that benefits everyone.
The GPAC was a committee set up to represent all walks of life. Discriminating against me because of our personal differences is precisely against its purpose. As the recommendations of the changes go to voters, this will also be further exposed. The legitimacy of the recommendations is now being demonstrably compromised. I am one small vote of an entire team that has been working for years to represent the various interests of people in Redondo. Removing me also taints that goal.
Why? All because of your personal smear campaign that was likely further exasperated by my run for office last year. Removing me does not stop your bad behavior nor does it diminish my resolve.
In fact, one could argue that any council member's behaviors that go along with this sham reason do not represent the citizens. I will continue to seek the truth and expose it, including during future elections.
What is your end game?
As residents are beginning to see the constant negativity spread by your coalition of players, they can now see the trend. Get along with YOUR message or be forever harassed, belittled, and accused of false claims. All of this is exactly what Obagi did in his theatrical performance and presentation that took half-truths and manipulation of facts to tell a fantastic story. Where you went wrong was to accuse me of a crime that was never brought against me. Unlike C/M Obagi, who is awaiting his hearing for acts of moral turpitude, I have never been accused of a crime.
The reality is that this judgment you mention is currently uncollectable. If it was, you would have.
Likewise, you are now using our city tax money to continue to bring this trial into Redondo Chambers. The trial money and this decision also has personal financial implications to two of you.
You should be recusing yourselves. In March during the orals, this court case runs a very likely chance of being ultimately dismissed. C/M Obagi’s presentation bullet points were factually challenged and rewritten by the Court of Appeals. Where was this mentioned? It wasn't; he hid it from the public.
I would request that our City Attorney ensure that the judgement is as stated. Have you received official records from the court? Have you checked on everyone else on the GPAC? Why are you singling out me? A personal disagreement. That's why.
Likewise, the omission of any evidence or reviewable documentation on item P.1 makes it difficult, if not impossible for anyone to adequately be prepared to understand the item. The public deserves complete transparency.
Last, remember you are all on public record. Your accusations stating that I violated the law are factually incorrect and your perjury has been noted and I am pursuing this through the State. Tort for slanderous speech is not a protected announcement from council chambers.
Perhaps C/M Obagi should spend his time on his trial and not fantasizing and helping the constant gaslighting that the Mayor and his team are often found in engaging. My dismissal from the GPAC is unwarranted, but it will help me expose the corruption.
I urge the City Attorney to look at the key facts and violations above before a vote is made.
Accusations of a crime that never happened, voting for personal financial gain, and discrimination based on singling out only me, which is not even a collectible debt, sound like a fairly significant case against our city.
