Eleanor,
For some reason I am unable to post our lives comment on cannibas. Will you post this short comment for me? Please halt on the cannibas initiative. Preserve REDONDO Beach for a beach that was desirable for young adults to hang out— surfing and sun bathing, families that wanted a safe place to raise their children, older adults to retire and our city neighbors to come visit. If you bring in the pot shops, you will have a hand in creating crime and loitering, damaging property value, increased inner city traffic, undesirable smoke and odor in the surrounding areas and near family homes, increased policing when we can use our police force in other areas. It has been a personal experience as I have a home off of Melrose. These are the issues that we faced in the neighborhood. In addition, to the council and people that think our underage kids will get their hands on pot “anyways.” This will increase the likelihood and ability for the kids to get their hands on high potency THC, which is dangerous for the human brain, especially a growing brain. Can you imagine your teen getting their hands on high potency THC and damaging their brain? If you think your child would “never” try the pot in these shops, you have your head in the sand. Allowing these pot shops to come into our city for easy access, will not only be dangerous to our children, but will negatively impact our beautiful beach city on so many levels. Stop the pot shops and preserve REDONDO Beach! Sincerely, Eydie Aldana-Boghossian
