Thank you, Council Member Lowenstein, for reminding some people today of District 4 Council Member Zein Obagi holding the Council's feet over the fire to get a significant amount included in this year's budget. $2,319,775.00 for D4, pretty much more than any other district (and another $210,000 for the Scout House renovations in D5). And you reminded people that YOU know, because YOU prepared this year's budget. You reminded people that Council Member Obagi was merciless in holding out for what he needed, but highly effective. As someone who lived on Rockefeller for 8 years, you stated you know firsthand that Zein has done more than any D4 Councilmember in the past 20+ years to bring home money for your District 4.

And thank you for also relating that, while John Gran is a really nice guy, it was District 1 Council Member Nils Nehrenheim that secured $2M for Artesia from the Galleria's developer; not even his district. It's always great to have reminders of what is real, especially when there is so much "revisionist history" permeating social media of all kinds, by those wishing the truth weren't so.

I don't know why termed-out Redondo Beach council member Laura Emdee from District 5 cares about what happens in District 4, or the latest recall paid for by the cannabis people she spoke with for 2 hours. We should instead be asking what Emdee has done the past 6 years for her district. If you can't think of anything positive you are not alone.

Besides lobbying for a mall in the harbor the last 6 years and recently for condos at the AES plant, the biggest achievement (with fellow termed out council District member Christian Horvath) is tying up the city in multiple lawsuits. The financial cost of their actions to Redondo Beach from an early lease buyout to build the rejecter mall ($15 Million dollars) combined with legal expenses by some estimates, is now close to $20 Million Dollars.

Sorry councilmembers Emdee and Horvath. Anything you say or do costs the city millions and has clearly stopped any harbor revitalization for the past 5 years.

It's time to let the "resident centric" city council move us forward without you and your obedience to outside special interests.

Proponents who signed the intent to circulate a recall petition in Redondo Beach District 4 are already having buyers' remorse.

These same people are now getting mad when asked why they are supporting a drug dealer.

To those proponents now afraid to speak out you should be asking yourselves the following:

1. When you signed the petition did you know a drug dealer was bankrolling it?

2. Did the drug people begging for signatures say it would be printed in the newspaper? Here are facts for residents considering signing the recall petition:

1. Drug money (from marijuana sales) is being used to finance the recall.

2. The "drug dealer" will spend upwards of $40,000 to remove an elected councilmember from office, using paid signature gatherers, just to replace them with one the drug dealer favors.

3. Outside special interests will be purchasing a new councilmember using drug money.

4. After being bought and paid for with drug money - who will they answer to?

5. The special recall election could cost an estimated $60,000 to Redondo.

6. Retail cannabis in Redondo is a separate issue, no reason to overturn a recent election by outsiders duping residents.

Seems a big waste of money when duly elected Councilmember Obagi, in just the past 10 months has directed upwards of $2.1 Million of improvements to District 4. Compare that to the "non-resident oriented" councilmember voted out of office last year.

Don't be fooled - refuse to sign the "drug money sponsored" recall petition!
