2020 Census Redistricting Council Direction from November 9, 2021 Meeting Agreed to delete the anomaly from data set and adjust map accordingly.

Directed staff to appeal anomaly data to the Census Bureau.

Directed staff to consider alternative maps where boundaries are more “readily discernible” and eliminate confusion to residents. 5 Alternative 1 to Amend Boundaries
District 1 and District 2 Boundary:

Eliminates division down middle and resulting confusion on S. Lucia by moving boundary to more major roadway (Prospect) To adjust so more contiguous, shift multi-family in the eastern side of City from District 2 to District 1 To adjust for population distribution, move from Torrance Blvd to Ruby Street 6 Alternative 1 to Amend Boundaries (cont.)
District 2 and District 3 Boundary:

Eliminates division down middle and resulting confusion on S. Maria by moving boundary to more major roadway (Prospect) Maintains District 2 population close to target population per district 7 Alternative 1 to Amend Boundaries (cont.)
District 3 and District 4 Boundary:

To maintain District 3 population close to target population per district, adjustments would need to be made Shift boundary to Harriman Lane for consistency of boundary line 8 Alternative 1 to Amend Boundaries (cont.)
District 4 and District 5 Boundary:

To maintain District 4 and District 5 populations close to target population per district, adjustments would need to be made Shift boundary north from Artesia to Mathews Ave and Nelson Ave 9 2020 Census Population by Block Distributed by Alternative 1 10 DISTRICT
