The Historical Museum at Dominguez Park is having an open house on April 30 from 1-4 pm. We will also be celebrating the City's 130th birthday by hosting an exhibition of The art of Caesar Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez was a fifth generation California, a long time Redondo resident, and award winning art teacher at the high school.
His watercolor works are vibrant and have been exhibited locally and nationally. Please stop by.

Mayor and Council:
BCHD is current prosecuting a conditional use permit and planning commission design review with the City of Redondo Beach. As you are aware, BCHD self-certified its CEQA process, despite the fact that it passed on being lead agency for both the 510 and 520 medical office buildings. As such, the public as little confidence in the findings of BCHD within its Final EIR.
I have come to understand that the City of Redondo Beach Planning Department has transmitted comments to BCHD on April 1, 2022 regarding BCHDs "pre-CUP" application. City Planning is using the exemption from disclosure allowance in the public records act to deny release of its comments to the public. No where does the public records act mandate non-disclosure. The actions between two public, taxpayer funded agencies should be transparent and the public should have the opportunity for review and comment at every step in the process, not at a single Planning Commission meeting with a 10-day Legal Notice the size of a file card in a weekly newspaper.
Please direct the Planning Commission and Department to release all communications from BCHD and from Planning back to BCHD. Anything less will surely generate even more neighborhood opposition to the inconsistent and incompatible project along with Council appeal and other actions as necessary. Thank You.
Thank you.
