GRANT FUNDS FOR SURFACE UPGRADES TO THE PERRY PARK PLAYGROUND
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City has been awarded grant funding through the State of California’s Prop 68 Per Capita Program in the amount of $217,577 to fund the replacement of rubber surfacing at the Perry Park Playground Structure. This Resolution would appropriate the grant funds into the Project account.
BACKGROUND
On October 5, 2021, the City Council authorized staff to apply for grant funding through the State of California’s Prop 68 Per Capita Program to fund resurfacing at the Perry Park Playground Structure.
The City of Redondo Beach has been awarded $217,577 to complete the project. This Resolution would appropriate the grant funds into the project account, CIP #30800 - Playground Resurfacing.
COORDINATION
The Community Services Department coordinated with the City Attorney’s Office to approve the Resolution as to form.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Prop 68 Per Capita grant requires a matching contribution from the City of at least 20% of the project cost, which is $54,894. The matching funds were approved as part of the FY 2022-23 appropriation for the project. The remaining budget for the project, $217,577, will be funded by the grant.
