1, Eleanor Manzano, City Clerk of the City of Redondo Beach, California, do hereby certify that:
The recall petition for the recall of Councilperson Zein Obagi, Jr., District 4 was filed with the City Clerk's Office on June 22, 2022.
That pursuant to California Elections Code Section 11221: "(a) In the case of an officer of a city,... the number of signatures shall be equal in number to not less than the following percent of the registered voters in the electoral jurisdiction...(2) Twenty-five percent if registration is less than 10,000 but at least 1,000"; and "(b) For purposes of this section, the number of registered voters shall be calculated as of the time of the last report of registration by the county elections official to the Secretary of State pursuant to Section 2187, and prior to the finding by the elections official or the Secretary of State that no alterations are required in the form of the recall petition pursuant to Section 11042.," the last official Report of Registration of voters to the Secretary of State in Council District 4 in the City of Redondo Beach, as calculated by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Elections Division on January 4, 2022 is 9,606. 25% of said registered voters would require 2,402 valid signatures of registered voters who reside in District 4 to qualify the recall petition; That said petition consists of 459 sections;
That each section contains signatures purporting to be signatures of qualified electors of the City of Redondo Beach, California;
That attached to this petition at the time it was filed, was an affidavit purporting to be the affidavit of the person who solicited the signatures, and containing the dates between which the purported qualified electors signed this petition; That the affiant stated his or his own qualification, that he or she had solicited the signatures upon that Section, that all of the signatures were made in his or her presence, and that to the best of his or her own information and belief, each signature to thai section was the genuine signature of the person whose name it purports to be That after the proponents filed this petition and based on the County of Los Angeles Registrar of Voters' Signature Verification Certificate I have determined the following facts regarding this petition;
