A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A 2022-2023
FISCAL YEAR BUDGET MODIFICATION APPROPRIATING
$219,577.00 IN PROP 68 GRANT FUNDS FOR SURFACE
UPGRADES TO THE PERRY PARK PLAYGROUND.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach to review the adopted budget from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate monies from state grants to City funds for allowable expenditures; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has provided grant funds for local park rehabilitation, creation and improvements through Proposition 68; and WHEREAS, Proposition 68 provides a per capita distribution of funds that awarded the City an allocation of $219,577.00 for the period of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2024; and WHEREAS, the City has approved the receipt and appropriation of past grant funding for similar programs; and
WHEREAS, the Community Services and Public Works Departments intend to use the monies to develop the Perry Park playground surface including the installation and enhancement of existing sand and rubber surface play area.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amounts allocated in the budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year, require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted in Fiscal Year 2022-2023 is modified as follows:
Appropriation of Two Hundred and Nineteen Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-Seven Dollars ($219,577) in grant funds from the California Department of Parks and Recreation Proposition 68 Grant to enhance the Perry Park playground surface as part of Capital Improvement Project #30800 - Playground Resurfacing.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting this resolution.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 in accordance with the above modification.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions of said City and shall cause the action of the City Council in adopting the same to be entered in the official minutes of said City Council.
